Mobile applications

Native iOS and Android, built correctly for each platform and each store.

Who this is for

  • Your customers are asking for an app and the mobile web experience is not enough
  • You need offline behavior that a web app genuinely cannot give you
  • You want an app that feels native on each platform rather than a wrapper
  • You have an app nobody has updated in two years and it is close to being delisted

What gets built

Each platform gets the chrome it expects. New builds go to a tenth of your users first, so a bad one is a bad morning rather than a bad week.

How it works

  1. A hard conversation first about whether you actually need an app

  2. Native by default: Swift on iOS and Kotlin on Android, so each app behaves the way its platform and its store expect

  3. A shared React Native codebase when that is the better trade for your roadmap, and that call gets made with you

  4. Offline and sync behavior designed at the start, because it cannot be retrofitted

  5. Store submission, review handling, and a staged rollout so a bad build reaches a fraction of users

What it costs

The bands that apply to this work, with what each one includes and what pushes it up or down. Nothing here is a number you have to book a call to hear.

Mobile app

Native iOS and Android, built correctly for each platform and each store.

$35K–$100K

What it includes

  • Each platform gets its own native codebase: Swift on iOS, Kotlin on Android
  • React Native instead, when a shared codebase is the better trade for your roadmap
  • Store submission, review handling and release tooling
  • Offline and sync behavior designed up front rather than retrofitted
  • Crash reporting and staged rollout

What moves the number

  • One platform or both, and whether you want native per platform or a shared React Native codebase
  • Offline support and background sync
  • Hardware access: camera, Bluetooth, location, background processing
  • Whether an existing API is ready or the backend ships too

A shipped app needs a retainer. Store policy changes arrive on Apple and Google schedules rather than yours, and an unmaintained app eventually stops being installable.

Care plan

Someone who already knows your system, on the hook when it breaks.

$500 / $1.2K / $2.5K per month

What it includes

  • Dependency and security patching
  • Uptime monitoring with a real escalation path
  • A block of development time each month
  • A named response time, written into the contract

What moves the number

  • Response time you need when something breaks
  • How much monthly development time is included
  • Whether uptime monitoring and on-call escalation are in scope

Questions people actually ask

Native or React Native?
Native by default. Swift on iOS, Kotlin on Android: each app then behaves the way its platform expects and the way its store reviews for, and every hardware capability stays on the table. React Native is the right call when a shared codebase serves your roadmap better. I will say which one I think you want, and what the other one costs you.
Can you handle both platforms at once?
Yes. When two native codebases need to move in parallel I bring in senior engineers I have worked with, or slot into the team you already have. You still deal with me on direction and quality.
Does a shipped app need ongoing work?
Yes, and anyone who says otherwise is selling you a problem for later. Store policies change on their schedule, not yours, and an unmaintained app eventually stops being installable.

Sound like your situation?

Twenty minutes, no deck, and a straight answer at the end about whether this is the right piece of work for you. If it is not, I would rather say so now than at proposal stage.
